I would like to know if any one had their husband help pick out their sheitel or maybe have the final say of which one to buy. I am referring to style and color.

My husband hasn't but I would definitely let him if he were interested. I guess it depends on how much you value your husbands sense of style/fashion.

If he was interested I would definitely appreciate his input on ANY matter, shaitel purchasing included.... but final say in the matter- NEVER. There isnt much that he has 'final' say over especially if I am going to be wearing it... either he can convince me to see things his way or I can convince him. Now that being said I show him everything I buy and almost always return the things he doesnt like, but that is because I want him to like what I wear. When the comment (to one of my favorite dresses) was how it looked like it was from the 50s, I ignored him, bec it was supposed to have that look, and its what I was going for. Its not like he looks through fashion mags and would realize that it was back in style:)

Sure I would want him to- I want to look nice primarily for myself but secondly and equally importantly for my husband so why not have his input? I'm not saying you should negate all your preferences if he tells you to buy a knee length purple shiny sheitel... but within reason, why not involve him?

Yup. Some men give great input. For other men, giving opinions on this matter should be forbidden.

My dh has great taste so I would and did ask him when I recently bought a new sheitel. Plus it's a huge expense, which we always discuss first. But final say always goes to me in such matter, I have to like how I look in it and feel comfy in it. Yes, his input can and will influence my decision but that's it.

I don't buy precuts so it would be hard for him to help beyond seeing the color. but he definitely lets me know what shade of blond he likes best on me. and since I look good in a few different shades, there's no harm in wearing what he likes!
actually back in november I came home in a newly cut wig that I somehow thought looked good in the shop, but he couldn't help but tell me numerous times in one night how it looked like I was wearing a mop on my head. since he hated it so vehemently I agreed to exchange it. he overjoyed when I came home in a blonder, longer, and less angled wig.
but then this month I bought a pony sheital and he wasn't used to seeing me with my hair up. when I came home he said he wasn't crazy about it. but he didn't hate it like last time. and actually within a week he loved it on me, even more than my first one.
in the case of my husband, it's better not to involve him in the process, but rather take his preferences into consideration and ask his opinion on the final product.

Since dh is the one I want to look good for, I'd like to have his input on any big-ticket purchase affecting my looks. But his input is solicited at the end of the process: I rummage through the racks, try on what catches my eye, and then ask him for his opinion once the choices are narrowed down to two or three.

Dh came with me to look at my fall before I bought it. And he came with me while I got my sheitel styled once. He cares more about this stuff than I do and if there's an easy way I can look even a bit more attractive in his eyes, why wouldn't I go for it?

Same as me lol.
Each time I bring the wig subject up, he is disgusted. Even though his mother and sisters wear them. He likes me in a tichel, a even for tichel he hates it when I wear dark colors, he likes me in Israeli tichels or colorful ones. He says dark color make me look like a widower cvs.

He has natural great taste of what is pretty or goes together.
But he also has a strong idea of what is (un)tznius. If I listened to him I would wear dark short sheitels. NO WAY.

my dh thinks I look good in everything.now that might sound like a great thing, but sometimes it just isn't!
I have to wear the sheitel every single day,so I have to be comfortable w/it.inot to mention he trust me to make the best decision for us.he likes my taste, and how I present myself.
I guess its one of the reasons he married me

Since I want him to think I look good, I'd make sure I get something he likes.
Unfortunately he couldn't care less, so I've never asked his opinion.

I wouldn't have him choose a particular sheitel, since that's a question of comfort as much as anything else, but for example I recently got a new one, and he felt that it was too long for me (I'm short), and that it was a little too attention-getting. I got it cut a few inches (even though it was gorgeous hair and was sad to see even a centimeter go!) and now he thinks it's terrific (and it's still below my shoulders). so I got a beautiful new sheitel and he got to feel comfortable with it and feel good about how I look. and probably I scored points for really taking his opinion into consideration, since I never consult him about clothing purchases, just show him the damage afterward.
that said, I love it when I see the new young wives at the robe shops in boro park, with the husbands pacing around on the street, while they change into different shabbos robes and come out to show the lucky fellows. it's so sweet and young and endearing.

Oh my goodness! It was probably mine you saw outside.
My dh is actually involved in every purchase I make. He has good taste (better than me, I'd say). I am so used to it that I can not do any shopping without him anymore. I pick a few I like and he picks the one he likes best or if neither one make me return them all. When we'd be shopping in a mall, he'd usually be the one to find just the thing I was looking for, so of course he would be fully involved in my sheitel style, color, length and price.

of course I ask for my husbands opinion, but not so he should "feel comfortable" with it or in case he has any "issues" with it or anything like that, but really because I trust his judgment and opinions, and, I really care about how he thinks I look! I want to look "pretty" for HIM of all people - so if he thinks its too long or short, too blonde or brown, too curly or straight, Ill take that opinion more seriously than anyone else's, because I care about how he thinks I look and I want him to be attracted to me!
