which airport is nicer or better if you had a choice between those 2.

what are the pros and what are the cons of each one?

I've never tried Luton, I like heathrow but always hated stanstead.

they all have their pros and cons it depends what u want it for and where u are going afterwards. if u are going into london itself I think heathrow is easier bec the public transport system is much better to get to heathrow. luton is a much smaller airport and it doesnt have things like walkways to the planes etc.

well elal now fly to luton and heathrow, but not stanstead. I wonder why they quit stanstead. thoughi hated that airport.

I found that the flights to and from luton were not convenient even though I'm going to be in golders green but I feel getting from luton would be a hassle and very costly.

I'm used to heathrow and the underground even though it would take longer to get there but I think on the oyster it would be far cheaper though I heard that underground prices have gone up, is that true to like 5 pounds...

btw elal's flights to and from heathrow are more convenient plus they have more flighst a day there....

yeah the problem with elal is their flights to luton ar at 7am, and from luton ay 12pm... not so convenient for me.

heathrow has to london at 9am and at 5pm I think and to TLV at 14.30pm and 10.30pm

oh I c. I have used both many times I find luton horribly annoying bec its got a lot of stairs and no lifts so when u go with kids its awful bec u have to go up and down the stairs to board the plane and its really problematic. heathrow on the other hand has mainly walkways to the plane and although u have to walk more I find that easier than stairs

Heathrow is a lot of walking. It takes almost 1/2 hour to walk to your gate. It's very big, so when travelling with kids, I'm often nervous cos there's so many people and places for kids to hide. That said, it's closer to Hendon/Golders Green so cheaper to get to the airport. Luton costs more to get to, but the flights are usually cheaper.

Safe journey Smile

Heathrow
Pro: It's closer to GG/Hendon.
Better public transportation
Lots of amenity--you can even pick up kosher sandwiches, much better selection of shops
More flight choices, fab BA lounge if you're silver/gold member
T5 is very nice.
Con: PERMANENTLY CLOGGED--prone to departure and arrival delays, you're more likely to end up
flying in circles a few times before the landing slot becomes available.
A bit annoying if it involves terminal connection on the landside. need to change from
one train to another
Immigration queue for non-EU passport holders can be quite long esp if you're arriving early
morning red-eyes
T2 &3 look rather shoddy. Non-functioning moving walkways...

Luton
Pro: It's closer if you live north end of M25.
Less wait for take-off/landing, less hakafot above London
Luggage come out quicker
Quicker immigration queue (see above)
Con: No train/tube links, only buses
shoppings not as nice, no nice BA lounge
Facilites not so nice.
Checkin areas can get really crowded esp around holiday season
No Iris scan

Iris scan is an immigration system at Heathrow/Gatwick (not sure Stanstead has one, I know for sure there's none at Luton or City) where you can go to a separate automated gate, stare at a camera. It's quite convenient when regular queues are long and slowmoving. Also no need to write landing cards. You can register only if you travel frequently in/out of LHR/LGW or if you have an indefinite leave to remain/a long-term visa.
