My DH is way into social networking! He chats online all the time and seriously wades in with earnest advice-about computers and electronics! His facebook page always has up-to-date pictures of his circuits! Not a single one of me and the kids. I'm guessing that "Imafather" would have no mention of DW, DS or DD. I bet it would have some Torah talk and a lot of excruciatingly boring hobby stuff (the kind I only pretend to listen to). They would probably also do the armchair mechanic stuff like we advise each other on health. We might be able to spy on it, but it would be too boring. Laughing

Thread title:
Beard issues; should I shave, wax, or go Brazilian?

My DW wants me to do an all Brazilian beard job. Why should I endure the pain? What in this world does she do as painful as this? After all, I go thru the pain of living with a hormonal piece of flesh aka a wife, isn't that painful enough?

THE CHASSIDISHE VELT

WHY MUST I ALWAYS GIVE IN?? HELP

Imafather(posting anonymously)

I am married for 3 years now ke'h. No serious complaints, except that My DW is very sensitive.. and like most women.. can sometimes be a real nag.. Rolling Eyes
But for the sake of Shalom bayis, I give into most of her nonsense, as long as it doesn't affect my Rochnios.
Lately, she came up with this new meshugas, that she wants me to wear PJ's instead of nightgowns. She claims she'd feel more attracted to me.. Scratching Head
I don't know where she suddenly picked up this new ****, but this time I put my foot down, and told her, in a gentle, but firm tone, that I am not willing to change a costume I was bought up with. My Rebbe's, my Father, and most of my community respect this tradition, so why should I be any different? especially when it is not something strange to her at all. (we are from the same Chassidus..) I told her nicely, if she rather prefers I go to bed with just a T-shirt and my Chassidishe Gatches (knee length boxers..), that's fine with me, but please don't bug me to wear something I feel uncomfortable with.
I apologized, and that was the end of it.

Two evenings later, I noticed a gift wrapped package on my bed.. I nearly fainted as I unwrapped a new pair of pajamas...Shocked
Luckily she wasn't in the room at the time, so I swiftly shoved it behind the dresser, and pretended as if nothing ever happened.

The next morning as I, smilingly, greeted her "Good morning", she angrily turned away.. and since then she's given me the silent treatment. Every time I try to talk to her, she walks away. She ignores my calls, and doesn't answer my texts.
I am so heartbroken. I just cannot tolerate this horrible situation anymore. I even thought about giving in to her demand.. and last night I, secretly, tried on the PJ's, in the bathroom... but I almost Puke, .when I saw myself in it.. seriously.

I don't know how to handle this anymore. WWYD?? Please help me Crying or Very sad

p.s. I was going to post this in the Shalom Bayis forum, but didn't think it was a good idea to post it on a public forum... Wink

HELP!! I'm newly married, I'm so happy, and thought my wife is too. But today, I found some sort of weapon in my wife's closet!!!! HELP!! How should I deal with this?

edited. Sorry, irrelevant post. DW said (between fits of laughter) that it's a machine that dries hair. How was I supposed to know that? Uh, mods, how do I delete this post?

(this post is dedicated to my dh, who grew up in a wonderful all-boy family)

In MY family, Mom baked the best cakes, pies, cookies, and puddings.

Once in a while, DW bakes blondies or rice krispie treats. Why can't she bake just like my Mom? What am I supposed to eat at home?????? I'm starving!!!!!

My FIL keeps giving me hints that he can't wait to see his daughter in maternity clothes. I'm newlywed. Is that considered normal?
