sounds yum and so easy! you don't have to beat the whip first and then add the cookies?

and it really is no mess - I mix it in a plastic bag so there is no bowl or spoon to wash.

sky, that recipe sounds awesome! when you say 'whip' do you just mean parev cream? and choc sandwich cookies - how much crushed and do you mean the ones that are 2 little cookies with creamy stuff in the middle?

I LOVE the idea of mixing in a bag for no mess. how did you think of that?! LOL

The whip for the recipe is actually liquid topping. As in Rich's whip. Or Gefen/Hadar topping.

Yup, the chocolate sandwich cookies with the white cream in the middle. The Parve version of Oreos.

Sky, I was told to make it with 32 oz. whip.
My friend who shared the recipe said that her son requested it as his bar mitzvah dessert. She was kind of embarrassed (but I think she did anyway ;-)

There's no room in the graham cracker crust for more than 16 oz.

I make the same thing as Sky's recipe but I just break up the cookies into the graham cracker crust and pour a 16 oz whip on top. You can put a few more pieces on top.
You can mix it around if you want but I don't even bother getting a bag messy Smile

I've also seen someone crush them in a food processor first. I like it the broken cookie piece way better though.

Bump! Love this thread which I just came across, but I see that its been dormant for quite a few years. So many recipes have been added to the imamother collection since then, that I think it's time for a revival. We can add favorites from the Suppers for a Year cookbook, as well. (I tried starting a thread for Recipe Recs from the Imamother Ckbk, but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere so far Sad .)

Crispy garlic chicken from food.com (I don't remember who posted it on imamother, but I came across it on this site)- it is now a staple in my home, I make it for dinner once a week usually (I slightly adapted the recipe)

2 (4 lb) chicken, cut into 8 pieces each
1 cup olive oil
8 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups corn flake crumbs
2 tablespoons garlic powder
salt
pepper
paprika
Directions:

1
Place chicken in a large, shallow container.
2
Combine oil and garlic, pour over chicken, tossing to coat.
3
Cover and marinate 8 hours or overnight.
4
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
5
Line a large, shallow roasting pan with foil, grease well with a thin layer of olive oil.
6
Combine crumbs, garlic powder, salt, pepper and paprika in a shallow bowl.
7
Dredge chicken in crumb mixture and place in prepared pan.
8
Bake uncovered for 1 ½ hours, or until done.

And lowfat cheesecake by flyingmum.... it got me through my pregnancy cravings! I made it once a week when I was pregnant!

I just made a so called 'low fat' cheese cake. It's from the binah magazine from about a year ago:

1 (16oz) low-fat cottage cheese
1 (8oz) low fat vanilla yogurt
3 eggs
1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup sugar

For the base they say to use 4 chocolate graham crackers crushed.
The other ingredients just mix in blender and pour on top of base in 9'' round pan.
You can decorate it with fresh fruit or swirl some chocolate syrup on before baking.
