| |
After washing the dishes from Yomtov and putting away...
I got out an unopened bag of flour (sold with Mechiras Chametz), and put up a dough...
About 2 hours later we had hot, yummy, fresh rolls with butter.
Also, My DH's family has a "Minhag", they go out to the supermarket as soon as it opens after Yomtov and get a box of Cereal....
So, that's what he did....
What did y'all have?

| Believe it or not I was not interested in any chametz this year. I find the only time of year I really eat healthy is Pesach. I am forced becasue of my minhagim not to eat junk.

there's a sephardi minhag to make a "mimuna" (a celebration in honor of the rambam, I think) right after pesach. they usually get organized beforehand - pack away most of their pesach stuff erev yom tov. then right when yom tov is over, they quickly pack in the rest of the stuff, and take out the chametz. the traditional food served at this ceremony is called a "mufleta". it's a flat piece of dough, fried, and served with all sorts of dips and spreads. most of the things served there are kosher for pesach, for practical reasons.

the word mimouna actually comes from the word lel emunah which is something that the baal shem tov started and its the same reason that lubavitchers have seoudas mashiach.
an other reason is that on pesach everybody keeps diferent minhagim and diferent chumras. so basically nobody really goes to anybody elses house. so on motzaai pesach you basically go from house to house (in yidish it would be galaventing) and you specificly make a berachah in the house to show your friend that eventhough on pesach I didnt come to you its nothing against you. so here a proof is that I come to you as soon as pesach is over.
and moufleta is a kind of pancake which is flat and fried
