Avraham Tzvi

I've heard this combination of names a LOT lately, once on an uncle moishy tape and I think one of the imababies name is Avraham Tzvi too. I've also heard like 3-4 other boys who have that name.

I was just wondering if it was a famous rav or what the reason for putting those two seemingly random names together?

It's my son's name - he was named after his great grandfather. But I have a gerrer friend whose son is also named Avraham Tzvi and it's a family name for her too, iirc.

I have a nephew named Avraham Tzvi, too, except it's not a family name. In this case Tzvi was a family name and they added Avraham from the parsha.

It's my ds's name also. The Avraham is from my great grandfather on my father's side, and the Tzvi was my mother's father. We found out after Avraham's father was Tzvi, so the name was really hagaga prati. We call him both names.

Avraham Tzvi is a gerrer name. My dh is Avraham Tzvi.

Amother thanks for the info, I didn't know that! Is it for a Rav or just a combination that tends to be used together?

That's my DS's name too - also named for his great-grandfather - like the 2nd imamother above (Are we related?) We are not gerer and according to the great-grandmother, her DH's name was Avraham Hirsch but we were told that the proper name to be given was Avraham Tzvi, Tzvi being the hebrew translation for Hirsch.

there are many avraham tzvi's in my husband's family - not ger.
