| I'm a newlywed so I'm still pretty new to owning and maintaining a sheitl. I was wondering if it is common that the back of the sheitl (the hair around the back of my neck) gets all tangled and clumpy. At first I thought it was because I owned a synthetic sheitl but now my real hair sheitl is doing it as well. I brainstormed a few ideas of what might be causing it: I flip the shietl upside down to put it on, I dont always dry my hair before putting on the sheitl, and I dont wear a cap underneath my sheitl. Does anyone know what causes the tangly, clumpy messes in the back of sheitls?

First make sure that your sheitel is clean because dirty shaitels tend to tangle faster.
Next, buy a smoothing serum in the drugstore and put a small amount on the area that tangles and comb it through.
You should also check with the company that made your shaitel. Many have guarantees against clumping and knotting and will either replace the hair that tangles or do a treatment on it to make it smoother. You should definitely look into that option if all else fails.

Do you brush it out every night? If you don't, the tangles can build up pretty fast and then it's pretty hard to untangle.
Also, try holding the brush vertically (instead of the normal horizontal way) when you brush. It works a lot better at getting rid of knots like that.
