| Is that what produce costs where you live? And here I was outraged that my greengrocer charges $4 for a teeny 4-ounce container!

| the reason I am asking is because my sister is selling a blackberry storm - it's brand new yet I was shocked at the cost ... however upon looking on line I see it's in the middle price range of other ads ...

Depends on a lot of things... how much you need it and whether you can afford it. For example, if you have a good job that pays well, but requires you to be "in touch" constantly, then it's a no-brainer. If you're unemployed and mostly hang out at home all day, you might not need it (or not be able to afford it).
Yes, yes, yes, these are two extremes... but regardless the question of wether it's worth it depends on its value to you.
