Anyone have one? I've seen the Fortunes & they are really nice. I think Mazali is a cheaper line but I've never seen them. If you know anything abt it can u please provide info.
Thanks!

Fortune wigs are supposed to be beautiful and well made but the cost a "fortune". I have a friend who got the mazali's (2 of them) and she is not happy.

I have a Mazali. It is Mongolian hair. I love it, really nice quality hair. It doesn't tangle, holds the set well, etc... I would definitely get another one. I bought it at a sale about a year ago, and have been very happy with it. I wear it most of the time.

I have a fortune sheitel, dark brown straight. It's quite old but I don't wear it everyday. I'm happy with it--cap is comfortable and well made and hair is good quality if not the best from what I hear.

my friend has a mazali and is unhappy with it, but she also admit to treating it badly.
this includes wearing it daily to work (in a hospital!)
not washing it for 6 months
throwing it on the floor
storing it in a plastic bag for lack of a shaitel head

so I guess any wig would be gross after that, right!? Rolling Eyes

I'm unhappy with my Mazali. My sister-in-law though has a Fortune and loves it.

I got mine cut at their salon in Brooklyn. Can't remember the lady's name but she did a lovely job, it helped I went with a friend. Admitedly, it's so many years ago (and I wear it maybe once a year at most).

I got my Mazali at a sale and although and I'm very happy with it its not what I would have picked first choice, but it was a sale...)
The hair is very nice. Its coarser but I think that heps it hold its set very well. It is very straight hair, but the top has some height that holds (the cut helps, but the hair has to follow along). I have not had a single tangling issue - its 14" - (except for when the sheitel is very dirty and hasn't been washed in a while)
At the sale the women selling them said they were getting rid of the Mazalis in stock because they were starting fresh with a whole new line, including ones with body.

A cousin of mine has a Fourtane and it is really nice. She wears it every day and after 5 years the hair still looks great and she is thrilled with it. Her color is more red/orange. After the 5 years her color has faded a lot, but I think that is normal at this point.

I have a Mazali and it's awful. It's extremely coarse hair, doesn't hold a style, and is just plain uch. A friend of mine who's a shaitelmacher says a lot of ppl are unhappy with Mazali. OTOH, my sil has a Mazali and she loves it. So I guess it depends on your mazal(I).
