| I have about 6 mushy pears that need to be used - any ideas for an easy dessert or side dish?

pear sauce - but I would add more fruit to make more - about 3 lbs altogether ... got apples or add berries for a neat flavour ... simply peel, dice, cook on low for a long long time ... no sugar needed - it's natural ... little dd does this all the time _________________ don't wonder why people go crazy ... rather wonder why we don't

Then what would I do with the sauce?

| I've made a pear/cranberry crumble from the Binah magazine (I substituted frozen strawberries for the cranberries). or warm pear crepes which are a tad time consuming to make... Let me know if you want the recipes.

| Make a granita or sorbet. Peel, core and destem the fruit, puree it, then add lemon juice (to prevent browning and add tartness), sugar and water, and freeze , preferably in a metal pan to speed the process. Check on it at intervals, and when ice starts to form on the edges, break it up with a fork. Keep doing this every so often till it's all frozen. You will now have a "granita". For a smooth "sorbet", let freeze partway--do not allow it to freeze solid--and process in a food processor with s-blade till smooth but not liquefied. Return to feezer.
