wich one do you recommend and why?
looking to buy one for my sisters shower

I love my Braun - strong motor, mine is about 20 years old & going strong. The newer ones have big, non-leaking bowls. Parts are always available at Duddy's for good prices (extra bowls, blades etc.), great potato kugel blade!

I loved the Cuisinart

We have a Braun now, b/c cuisinart doesn't make 220V (apparently), and it works well. The only comment I have is that almost everyone I know has had to replace a part at one time or another - the safety latch feature on the top is very fragile and easily broken, for example. (Yes, it fell off the counter, to be fair, but when so many people have the same issue, you have to wonder...)
Maybe it's different in the north american version.

Exactly what happened to me on Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This is tooo funny. The tiny part smaller than a baby tooth cracked off. A new lid is 12.00.
