You dont have a problem with it. You will know if it is too loud for her. She will start crying. Dont worry. Just dont keep her near the speakers or were the band is playing. _________________ Esther 05/16/01 Zalman 09/11/02 Shoshana 05/22/04 Batya 11/05/08 Eliyahu 10/31/2011
You know your children are growing up when they stop asking you where they came from and refuse to tell you where they are going

Sorry, I disagree. By the time noise is actually painful it is way, way, way over the limit. Some people are not at all uncomfortable at levels that are at or above the permissible limit. some babies are more "irritable" than others, and crying is not a function of actual noise level. noise-induced hearing loss is cumulative and ultimately irreversible. protect your baby's hearing--don't take him to the simcha. if you absolutely must take him, please, please leave him in a stroller or a playard outside the ballroom. you and a few other moms can take turns watching the wee ones there, if the baal hasimchoh is not providing a sitter onsite.
I know whereof I speak: part of my job entails advising people on how to protect their hearing.

| IMO babies do not belong at weddings, if they need to come for pictures and the like fine, but afterwards they should be sent home with a babysitter, it isnt fair to them to be around loud music, tons of people, and be up all night.

| I agree shoy! In general babies dont belong out at night. (unless they are new born, u cant help it and sometimes need to go somewhere.... I once had to leave a wedding of my relative early and didnt have a babysitter so I just left the wedding and missed like an hour or two... but My priority is my baby and she needed to go home and go to sleep... we left the wedding at like 8, half hour after her bed time.

That mom had the right idea, but unfortunately cotton balls are not effective against the high frequencies that are the most damaging.
