At what age should I buy shoes for ds?

question for the more experienced mothers: when should I buy real shoes for my ds? I mean the real sturdy ones? some people say once the pull themselves up , some say when they actually start to walk many opinions! what do u do?

Only when they walk, and then only for outside the home. Walking with just socks is still better for them for a while.

Yes, only when they are walking out of the home. I bought Avraham Tzvi hard shoes because winter is coming up and he's really walking now, but he still wears his soft ones 95% of the time.

My kid's PT says a month after they start walking all over.

Depending on the season a few weeks to a few months after they start walking. (IE when they walk outside)

You can get Robeez style shoes for walking outside in good weather and in bad weather they probably wont be walking for a while anyway. Wait as long as possible - their feet grow SOOO fast at this age and the shoes are so expensive.

DS#1 got shoes a week after he started walking because it was summer & we were out in the park a lot. DS#2 got shoes two MONTHS after he started walking, because then summer started and I was scared to let him out in the park in just socks in case of sharp objects.

ANY age can wear shoes for cuteness or warmth. real shoes are for a child who is strongly walking outside.
