was this an advertisement for the kaballah centre? it was really weird! didnt find it funny at all! _________________ Jack of all trades- Master of Some.
I was wondering how long it would take for the clip to get here.
First of all these 2 actors arent chasidim. the tall guy is chazan/comedian Modi Rosenfeld, who is not frum, but a great actor. He was on CSI NY last week, he was in Waiting for Woody Allen, and he has great youtube comedy clips ups.
Secondly, this clip is missing about 1 1/2 minutes, which ties up the entire promo. Youre missing the end of the story.
Thirdly, it's a promo for a movie theyre putting out. IT's got nothing to do with chasidim in the least, theyre just acting as chasidim. They got it a bit wrong though; the payos of the blond guy are off, as is teh accent. I did love the dancing in pink's _________________ http://www.autism-parenting.com

I guess I'm about the only one who wasn't bugged by it...I actually thought it was kind of weird and cute at the same time...
but I knew something was up when they were drinking smoothies (where can you find kosher smoothies there) and didn't make a bracha..! _________________ Say, Think or Do One Thing Now to Bring Moshiach!

re: movie, it's interesting you mention it, mama-bear, because I was kinda thinking it was a little like borat...people out of their element and responding (uniquely) to the new environment they are in.

I found it funny, I dontknow people are getting all insulted. the guy who made it is NOT religious, he is a Jewish comedian. Seems like he is just copying Sasha Baron Cohen (of Borat/Ali G/Bruno fame)'s idea...big deal, it was cute....
btw this clip is missing a couple minutes, the end is worth watching... _________________ "The Chillul Hashem of a few individuals ...encourages the desecration of Torah learning. To defraud and exploit our fellowmen, Jew or gentile, to conspire, to betray the government ...are hideous crimes"

I thought it was truly realistic. Thats most likely what they would have done. It took me awhile to get used to the secular naivety of chassidish people ( I don't think its a bad thing). I would have to say that is pretty accurate. _________________ Boy 10, Boy 8, Girl 7, Boy 5, Boy 3, Boy 15 months

What? I was rolling! Of course its not realistic (the actors are obviously not chassidish but are good actors) (and where can you find a cholov yisroel slurpee) and there are some inappropriate parts, but the "storyline" is funny. The fact that chassidim are sheltered is somewhat endearing to me.

My favorite joke was the one with the shvigger . It's a very cutely done clip, what should I tell you. Modi looks pretty convincing as a Belzer guy LOL. The best thing of this whole clip is that for a couple of hours, these secular jews wore yarmulke andn tzitzis... (though I'm sure they didnt make a brocha on the tzitzis). anyway, here's the original clip so you can see the end:
