| My guest room is not large, but I want to make it more inviting for a young couple and baby that we are hosting for Shabos. What would you want in your ideal guest room?

One family I stayed with in sem left us a plate of fruit, a bottle of water, disposable cups, napkins, and maybe some crackers. I thought it was so thoughtful. It was all right there without me having to ask or go without because I felt uncomfortable. _________________ Lucky Mom to 5

water, towls, some little chocolates.
Make sure the pack and play is already set up instead of leaving it in the corner.
if you dont have somewhere to put a suitcase or dufflebag on, get one of those folding things they have in hotels to put a suitcase on so you dont have to bend everytime you want to get something.

a toy or some books for the baby.
spare new toothbrushes in the bathroom - it's something ppole tend to 4get & very uncomfortable w/o it...
honestly I think the main thing I appreciate is when the beds / blankets/ pillows are comfortable. the problem is though that since most pple don't sleep in their guest room, sometimes these things get neglected. we had to remind our parents that the basement beds need new mattereses-they never slept in those beds even once. they had had guests all teh time but hthey never complained

I personally dont like when people leave food in the bedroom.
a bottle of water and glasses is a nice touch, maybe even some individually wrapped hard candy.
if theres an area outside the bedroom then maybe some fruit or chocolates is a nice touch
as a mater of fact I would not be happy to know that my guests r eating in the guest room-
I always leave some cookies and fruit on the kitchen table and show them where they can find coffee and stuff so they feel comfortable helping themselves.

| oh and a little bottle of lense solution, for some reason I always leave it at home, and if the hosts dont wear lenses I end up having to use plain water

A dresser or chest on which to place a shaitel head. Hooks or sufficient hanging space in the closet. Enough pillows. _________________ Batya

fresh towels, tissues, bottle water/cups, magazine, sheitel head, lamp, a/c (or steam)
(if this is a steady guest room I'd keep a spare nightie and snood in a draw just in case)
hanging space and 3-4 spare hangers
bed and linen for baby - maybe a toy or two (if you want to be really nice pampers/wipes)
bathroom should also have soap, shampoo, towels, tissues, toilet paper _________________ "You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try."

| A mirror. I can't count how many times I've been a guest and had to wing my way through putting my shaitel on without seeing what it looked like first, and had to put on makeup staring into my little compact mirror. Water, towels, tissues, clock are all good too.

I prepare a nice basket with little lotions, soaps, tissues, hand towel, toothpaste, toothbrush, water bottle, remote control for the fan and tv and mouthwash. _________________ "WORRYING is like sitting in a rocking chair... It gives you something to do but does not get you ANYWHERE!"
