Mazal Tov on the newest member of the family!

My children's ages: DD1 will be 18 August 10th. DD2 will be 17 August 27th. DS will be 2 May 15th and the new baby is set to make an appearance... any day (we're hoping).

I was 18 1/2 when I married the girls' father.. THAT is what scares me.. LOL... that I have a daughter who is almost as 'old' as I was when I got married...

Yeah, but it's the gap that makes it a surprise! Mazel Tov!

I thought my 48 year old cousin with a 14 year gap was good, but this, wow. (Kid's brother was sandak by the bris Smile)
Oh, and she nursed till he was 4 -- can you imagine?!

I was the only child for almost 8 years and then my parents had 5 more kids. My youngest sibling was born when I was 16, now's she's 5 and is closer to my kids' generation than to mine.
My husband's nephew is older than my brother in law.
All the generations are mixing because girls get married young and are still able to have kids when they are older thanks to modern medicine.

Here's what can happen when you have another child by surprise:

When my grandma was 41, she had her seventh son, and she figured he was her last. So she and my grandfather called him Binyamin. About a year or so later, she thought she was entering her menopause and then discovered that she was in fact pregnant! My dad was born when she was 43. My grandfather decided that he had to name him after David Hamelech's youngest son, and Dad got lumbered with the name Elifelet. (He uses his English name, however ...) When my parents wanted to get married, Dad had to give the Rabbi at the London Rabbinate the actual reference in Divrei Hayamim because they had never met anyone with such a name before!

Btw, there were just twelve years between Dad and his oldest brother.

My siblings are all at least a decade older then me. My mother had me when she was over 40.

Interesting... I would have named him Yitzchak... unless there already was one...

My grandfather's father was Yitzchok. But I don't know if he was still alive at that time. He was still in Belarussia.

My mom and I had babies 2 days apart. When I visited her in the hospital the nurse wanted to send me to the labor and delivery floor she thought I mistakenly came to this floor.
