| I've heard that the guy will be in the bagel store and order a "tuna beigel" in a chassidish accent (too bad you can only read and can't hear it here)...

| so he's bummy BECAUSE he says "bai- gil"? Or is there something inherently bummy about a tuna bagel? Still don't really get it... ;D

| He's a bummy chassidish guy that tries to act act and dress cool. But he still can't hide who he really is. When he orders a tuna bagel he'll ask for a tun buy-gil.

OMG, LOL! That's so funny, I've been hearing that term from my 14 yr old dd and her friend lately!
They told me the same thing that mamaluv explained.

| I was walking with my friend and we saw a chassidisha boy wearing these real tiny green glasses, talking on his blackberry, and she says to me "They call these guys "tuna beigels". for some reason I have been laughing at that description for the last 3 days.

| Definitely a Brooklyn thing, but it really works. My sister married a tuna buygil- I heard this term for the first time when she was dating him! It has taken us the two years they are married to really understand who he is- but he fits your descriptions exactly. We are all out of towners.

It's like greenfire says, and I have heard this term in reference to this "You can take a boy outta Satmar but you can't take Satmar out of a boy". The minute they open their mouth, it's a dead giveaway! _________________ A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.
