Clothing covered in oil stains-any advice?

Somehow, a tall bottle of olive oil fell off the top shelf of my pantry. Luckily, it did not crash on the floor, landing instead in my laundry hamper. Unluckily, the top came off and it spilled all over some dark clothing.

I washed the stuff in warm water with stain remover-on a heavy duty load, but the stains are all still there. What can I do now to get rid of the stains?

try scrubbing with dishsoap and rinsing in cold water. repeatedly.

sprinkle a heavy layer of cornstarch on both sides of every stain, rubbing well into the fabric. Let stand as long as possible--several days if you can. Wash with heavy-duty detergent in the hottest water that won't ruin the fabric. Air dry. repeat if necessary. DO NOT MACHINE DRY.

Rub, a mixture of vinegar and seltzer into the fabric and let it sit for a few days, and then launder regularly.

Spray the WELL DONE ST MORITZ Oven Spray on the clothes and put them in the washing machine. Be very careful as it is very dangerous for your skin and do it in a well ventilated area or it will make you choke. But it's worth it - everything will come out clean as it's made to remove grease from ovens. Keep the bottle away from your children!!

Ha--and here I thought my sister was the only person in the world insane enough to use corrosive oven cleaner for household cleaning.

St. Moritz will make holes in your clothing. But it is great on the floors before Pesach.

don't know if it will work after the clothes have already been washed but sprinkle baby powder over the stain and let it sit for a while before shaking off and washing (I guess it's the same as teh corn starch idea)

Shpritz any kind of grease remover on the stain (you know, what you'd use on your pots and pans and stove top) and wash in cold water. Never wash stains in warm/hot water or dry in a dryer this will only make the stains set and be impossible to remove.
