There are a few recipes I got from here that have become favorites:
Offhand I can think of:
Shanie5's kishka balls
Queen's (?) chicken with ketchup and brown sugar
and the chocolate chip cookie sticks from Kosher Palette

Do you have any favorites? I keep thinking we should make an Imamother cookbook. Could be a good fundraiser!

Here's one of my most favorite, easiest recipes - for a delicious cheesecake for shabbos morning

1 container cottage cheese
2 eggs
1/3 – ½ C sugar (depending on how sweet you like it)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 can pie filling [cherry, blueberry etc.] (optional)
1 graham cracker pie crust

Preheat oven to 350°.

Blend first four ingredients in blender. Pour the batter into pie crust, bake for 1 hour.
Top with pie filling. Refrigerate.

There is a site called morris press cookbooks. You can set up your cookbook and anyone can then submit the recipe online. They do all the work and send you the cookbook ready. It might work as a fundraiser.
The prices are great.

Hey, this is a good thread! Let's post!

if someone wants to try one of the recipes they can either look for it in Search (top left of screen) or pm the person who posted it who can help them

we like Dina's Kishka Balls

Fry 1 med. onion. Remove from pan and add breadcrumbs, flour, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp salt, and the oil that you used to fry the onion with. Mix everything. You might have to add more oil depending on how much oil you used to fry the onion (can add water instead). Sorry I don't have the exact measurements for the breadcrumbs or flour. I think it's about 1/4 cup breadcrumbs and 1/2 cup flour. If the mixture is too dry add more oil or water. Form into balls and stick it in the cholent.

I like el2cg's cutlet recipe:

Quote:
3 sm cutlets
3 tablespoons mayo
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 sm. can of mushrooms drained

marinate together and bake on high 10 minutes, then flip for another 10 minutes. (or bake on 350 for 1/2 hour)

which I make with one change. Instead of 1 Tbls of honey, I use 1 Tbls of mustard. It's delicious with chicken cutlets or meat.

The criteria for the recipes posted here are: something you make again and again or something you've made and plan on making again. Please post!

I'll second el2cg's cutlet recipe, it's yum and I make it all the time. Thanks!

Also someone's (sorry ai don't remenber whose) recipe for rice with soy sauce, onion soup mix and veggies in the oven. This is so easy and tastes very good. I make it alot. I have even substituted my own speces when I was out of soup mix.

Right now these are the ones I can think of that I use constantly. There are others that I use but I can't remember right now.

Anyway I am forever grateful for the recipe section on this site. Thanks to all that post there!!

It was funny seeing this old thread revitalized, especially since I was on here about an hour ago looking for a new recipe for chicken cutlets. Oh well, I'll have to try this one next time (I ended up making chicken paprikash from Spice and Spirit).

I hardly EVER cook, but once in a while that I do (it's become less and less frequent, lets say < 3 times a month LOL) I often use ideas, recipes, tips and tricks from here. But I don't tell my DH. It's my secret.

I love the idea of making a recipe book of imamother favorites! I would for sure buy one, and it seems like a great fundraiser for the site.

Those are off the top of my head. I've used countless recipes from here or ideas from them. I have to think of more...

Greenfire's Marble Crumb Cake has become a HUGE hit in our house.

Generally when I find a recipe that sounds good, I'll copy it to my blog and tag it so I have it available.

Sunshine's pizza dough (and I gave the recipe to others, too)

Quote:
I make them in round 9 inch pans so every one gets their own mini pizza. 1 batch of dough makes 4 pizzas.
2 1/4 tsp yeast(1pkg)
1 cup warm water
2 1/2 cupa flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
2 Tblsp oil
Mix yeast and water together till yeast dissolves. Add the rest of the ingredients. Kneed into a ball of dough and let rest 5 min. Shape into pizza. Top with sauce and cheese. Bake at 425 for 15-20 min

Can't remember who's (sorry!) Embarassed But I love the Asian chicken salad recipe. I keep making it for shabbos lunch, either as a 1st course or a main in the summer.
