What do you think of the name combination Perel Gittel?
Do you think it sounds funny both ending "el"?
If you gave such a name, would you make sure to use a nickname, like Perri or Gitty, or would you call the full name? Do you think the full name sounds a bit funny?
I am thinking of naming a kid after a sweet Perel Gittel I was very close to, but I'm not sure how the name sounds together. What do you say?
This Perel Gittel went by the name Gita.
Do you know what rabbanim say about naming after people- should you call them by the nickname their namesake was known by?

I would call by first name, or maybe a nickname but not an -I one unless it sounds "natural"

rabbanim are different people who say different things, so ask yours. I would use the real name for naming, then call whatever I feel like.
