This is the second time my dryer broke whithin one year. It's about 10 years old and if it keeps breakig at this rate we may as well buy a new one. To repair it costs about $250 but a new one costs $900 and up (its a stackable). What would you do? how often does your washer or dryer need repair?

Don't talk to me about dryers. We had ours for about 1 1/2 years and it broke. We had an extended warranty so they had to pick it up to fix. Today was the third time they came to fix it already. Every time they bring it back, it maybe lasts for a day or two. We told them we want a new one already, but they said they'll fix it one more time and then they'll see.

It was such a pleasure when we went to the states and used ours from there (it's in my sis basement and that's where we stayed).

I'm sorry, I don't know what to answer you about your dilemma.

Ours never breaks. We have to schlep our clothes to a laundromat and pay 1 quarter for every 6 minutes of dryer time.

The dryer has been fine, but our washing machine has broken 3 times now(and it's not that old). This last time was most serious. It's impossible to know the future to know whether it will break again and you will have spent more than the cost of a new one or not...
