I'm trying to find affordable cookie monster costumes on line and not coming up with leads that are under $20 each. I need in two sizes: 4T and 18 months.

Any ideas or suggestions?
TIA

you can try freecycle.com, and enter your neighborhood. You can post your request and if someone has a costume to give away they will contact you.

I guess you tried ebay. What about Party City (store, not web site) I noticed once that they had a lot of costumes in the back of the store.

I will need to buy 2, so gave myself the $20 limit per costume. eBay has, but for more $$$ per costume at this time.

I actually was in party city today and they did not have cookie monster (I checked for you).

As for ebay, I wonder if you can contact the seller and offer to buy two costumes for $40 and see what s/he says. He can then make a non-auction sale and you can buy. Is that allowed on ebay?

No other great ideas here.

If you can't find...can you get blue sleepers and make 2 eyeballs on a headband using styrofoam balls.

If you sew: http://www.coolest-homemade-costumes.com/cookie-monster-costume.html

If you don't: http://www.ehow.com/how_2067132_make-cookie-monster-costume.html

http://www.costumeexpress.com/Cookie-Monster-Costume/38176/ProductDetail.aspx?REF=AFC-sas are $25 each which is a bit better, but not sure about shipping and if your older one can squeeze into a 2T
