What kind of vitamins does your child take?
My pediatrician recommended we start giving my 18 month old a vitamin--in liquid form--he didn't specify which brand. Anyone have a suggestion?

Does he mean a multi vitamin? With or without iron? Is your child generally healthy?

Yes--a multivitamin. He is healthy but has some allergies so the dr. is a bit concerned about him not getting some basic nutrients.

A multi will not target allergies, only enhance his health and immune system. To work on the allergies, please list them in detail.

It may be that bc of allergies, he's not getting a wide range of nutrition.

The dr. sees the vitamins as a way to get the nutrition the child is missing out on bc of having to avoid various foods, not as a cure.

My sons specialist also put him on a multivitamin as soon as we realised he had allergies. It takes time to work out all the alternatives, and how to make sure your child is receiving everything he needs, but meanwhile, he needs the nutrients.

exactly.

That's why my original question was: What kind of vitamin does your child take? As in--is there a particular brand, etc.

Shaklee has a liquid multi and a chewable multi, bith of which my kids refuse to take. Only 1 kid swallows the tablets, the others take the gummi bears one which I doubt has any nutritional value. I also add 500 mg daily of vitamin C chewable, any brand will please most kids.
