I don't know how original this is, but I usually give a personalized Negel Vasser set.
I know I posted the info, somewhere else on this forum, so maybe do a search for another thread like this for more ideas.

A Torah one he can use too at simchas Torah. Tzizis one can never have too many and I love decorating my kids ones at that age myself Razz

girliesmommy, I second that. I only gave it once, because before that it never occurred to me, but it was a great gift and a great price.

I've seen beautiful things from Rosi Popack,CH. (718-493-1818)
she does customized pesonal gifts.

she does beautiful art and has tons of things: Shtender, pic frames, cork boards, peg holders, banks, rocking charis, step stools. etc..

I was at an upshernish, and about 4 ppl had ordered things, and she made sure to coordiante e/t.

mother48, I've never actually seen things she's made for gifts, but she and I were classmates always doing artsy things together, and I *know* she is good.
