I was wondering if I should do something to help my seven month old sleep thru the night. he eats a lot right before he goes to sleep and gets up at least once a nite to eat again. because he eats during the nite he gets up for the day anywhere bet 7:30 and 8:30. I like it that way bec thats when my other child gets up, so I would need to be up anyway. I put him to sleep at 6:30, so if I encourage him to sleep thru the night by various methods--rocking, giving paci etc. then I cant expect him to sleep so late without eating and he will be up for the day at 6:30-7. I would rather the extra sleep.
should I be trying to get him to sleep thru the night or should I just continue feeding him thru the nite....
im not sure if im being selfish or not...

I have the same question (with a slightly younger baby). Can't wait to hear the answer.

Dh was saying it would probably be a better sleep for the baby if he sleeps through the night - comparing it with how frustrating it is when you're pregnant to have to get up every night to use the bathroom. I sort of think he's right, but I don't mind the quick nursing, and I really like when he sleeps a bit later. (He's slept through the night on his own a few times, but then he wakes up at lik 6:30 instaed of 7:30-8:00. I really like that extra hour of sleep.)

Some kids just wake up, even without needing to eat. Rivka wakes up almost every single night, comes to our room, and we bring her back. She's not eating or even drinking. Rena also wakes up mosts nights, and she's almost 5. If it's working, don't mess with the baby. I say go with the flow. They will sleep through the night before they get married, and if they don't it will be their spouses issue Very Happy
