| |
| anyone have success with turning a sheitel into a fall. the fall that I am using now needs to be replaced and I was thinking of converting a sheitel that I do not use into a fall, the sheitel is a few years old but I hardly wore it. also, I'm not sure where I can go to get it done, I live in brooklyn...

I dont know what you mean by "convert" but its not a big deal to WEAR A sheitel as a fall AT ALL. The same way a girl would wear her bangs back with a headband. You wear the bangs back with a headband. I dont really wear headband falls, but I do this ALOT at home when I am cooking or on the floor w the kids just to get the bangs out of my face, and it looks really cute. perhaps if its synthetic hair, it wont sit as flat, but if it has a natural looking cap (the white kind you know? I forgot what its called-the ones that custom wigs are sewn onto), the bangs should go any direction you want them to-frontwards, to the sides, or back (as in under a headband)
if you mean hat fall, again, why cut out the hair, it was expensive! Most hats will fit over full sheitlach just fine. And this is coming from s/o with a "big" head- every hat I buy has to be streched or I buy a medium or large size if its a hat with sizes, and I have a very small frame-justbig skull or something lol. Still fit right over my shaitel with ease.

| great idea, I will try it on with a headband and see what it looks like. I am talking about a full fall with a headband not a hat fall. I was under the impression that sheitels and falls were made differently, maybe sheitels have pieces by the ears or something, and that's why I thought it would need to be "converted".

mine doesnt have "pieces" by the ears I dont know exactly what that means. no they are made exactly the same ones. custom ones with a cap at least. now OTOH, if its not "custom" and is allnetting on top, the hair might not go backwards "naturally" and might look wierd.
Try it on before you let someone trick you into paying to "convert" it. its just hair. you can do whatever you want to it.
this is why I dont understand the threads about "pony sheitels." waht is a pony sheitel. I put my hair back in a pony to keep it out of my face all the time. A HIGH pony, not just clipped back, and it looks just fine. IDK, maybe if theyre synthetic the hair wont hold like that?
anyway, I dont see any reason why youd have to convert it. just put a headband on and play with it...
