Hmm...I don't know.. We made sure ds was walking in them before we bought them. After we bought them, he walked right out of the store wearing them.
It did take him a minute or two I remember. I had to tempt him with something, like a toy or treat to get him to try the first couple steps, but then he took off and, like I said, straight out back into the mall. _________________

| I didn't buy my daughter her first shoes until she had been walking for several months. only when her pedipeds were getting holes from walking outside too much, did we take the plunge.

| I was told to give up to a week. If you see that it's still bothering them, I would go back to check it out. IT could be that the shoe is too small/big.

| Try putting them on for like 10 minutes at a time. Leave them around in plain site, trying to make a game out of it. Show them your shoes, try to put their shoes on your feet then laugh. Takes a few days sometimes. good luck.

the first day or two he didn't walk normally but after a week I'd say he walked much better/didn't fall so much... I show him my shoes when he puts on his (and the first few days he only wore them when we were going out - so I'd put them on and then get myself ready to leave and he was excited to go out so that helped him follow me to the door....) _________________ "You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try."

| DS did the same thing. We would joke about how the way to get him to stop walking was to put on his shoes. It took a few days (maybe a week - to a week and a half). The shoes fit him well, he just wasn't used to something on the foot that he had to lift (it made it heavier). This was in the beg of the summer, so I put lightweight water shoes on his feet for a little, to get used to the weight and then the shoes which were a little heavier.
