Wasn't sure where to put this. One of my friends has a special needs child, dyspraxia. They tried to get him into a special gan but were unable to, so this year he is in a regular gan, and is entitled to a helper, a shadow. My friend tentatively offered me the job, dependent upon approval from whatever authorities there be here in Israel that approve of those things. I've heard of "shadows" before but don 't exactly know what the job would entail.

Anyone with info or who could please send me to a link that would better explain my (possible) duties, I would greatly appreciate such assisstance.

You job would be :
1. helping him to suceed in doing things in gan that his disability makes harder, helping with behavior issues (if any)
2.possibly stuying one-to-one with him during part of the day on specific skills he would not get in gan

It is imperitive to get good hadracha (instructions and guidence). (But I don't know who does this for kids with this problem, I only know for Down s and autism

Dyspraxia entitles a saya'at? In gan? Is this chova or trom chova, because we were told no saya'at is ever approved for trom chova.

DH is dyspraxic. From what I know about it, it's basically a "dyslexia" of gross and fine motor skills/coordination. Honestly, if it were my child, I wouldn't want a saya'at, I'd want an OT who could work with my child so he could learn how to do the things that are more difficult for him.
