I used to work on sundays from the year I graduated. I loved it. I hate the busy streets and don't shop that day. This year is the first time I am home on sundays and it is a little boring.

Here, the streets are EMPTY on Sunday. Pretty much all the stores are closed. Just don't try going to the mall on a rainy Sunday...it's a madhouse.

I also hate sundays no schedule, and now with the frezzing weather the kids cant play outside.

I just started my DD age 4 to a gymnastics class in the afternoons so maybe that will make it easier. I still ahve my toddler to run after. but at least the big one will be entertained a bit

I don't enjoy sundays either. We have yet to figure out how to get out as a family in a timely fashion so that we can actually go somewhere and still come home at a normal time.

I love sundays. No getting up at 7am! My kids have such packed schedules the other days it's nice for them to have a day just to relax.

Being that I have boys only so far, Sunday is a regular day... Shimie is on the bus at 10:15 and I can do all my housework/errands etc....

That's one of the reasons why I love when my kids don't have school. Too bad, my baby woke me up at 7:30. Usually my dd takes him out and watches him, but she was still sleeping.

My husband's father worked Sundays (still does) and my mil never did anything with the kids, to this day he hates Sundays because he is reminded of his Sundays growing up when he was bored and lonely and depressed. Make sure it isn't like this for your kids!!

in my house growing up, sundays were family day; after lunch we would all go somewhere together. My brothers had school, but only in the morning. My mother grew up in the countryside, so after a whole week of being in the city we had to go somewhere with grass and trees and perhaps some water. Or we went to a museum, or some other attraction. Our favourites were the mummies in the british museum.

In dh's family, however, this was not the minhag. So every sunday I have to explain to him that even though yes, he has lots of work, we NEED to go out together.

it doesn't always happen, but hopefully my kids will have some happy sunday memories.

Although somehow, especially in the winter, we end up going shopping, partly becasue there is not much time for that on other days.
