Gan situation - checks bounced - WWYD

So, we have our kids in a gan at a home. We normally pay with checks, but I just saw the 2 latest checks bounced. They must have been written of the wrong household account that is mostly empty.
I feel very embarrassed, after all, we drive a car and can afford the gan. I feel so ashamed to go to her with the cash and do not want to write her another check. I could write her one from another account that does have the money on it but I am just to embarrassed. WWYD

I wouldn't even give it much thought. I'd tell her what happened, and either pay by check or by cash, and include whatever feel she may have been charged by her bank, if they do that. We all make mistakes.

What's to be embarassed? You made a mistake so make good on it, plus remburse her for what her bank charged due to your check bouncing. And don't let it happen again.
It makes me wonder why the caretaker didn't say anything?

When I was first out of school and had my first real job, I started to pay for many of my own things (like shoes, tights etc..). I didn't have that much money in the account, about $400 or so and gave a check of $30 to a tights store right before pesach. We went away for pesach that year to an area upstate with no cell reception. I came home to find letters of my check bounced and fees, plus a voicemail message from the store. I was so embarrased. The first thing I did was check my math in my ledgar and I was about two hundred dollars off, but I still should have had $200 in the account, more than enough to cover the check. What ended up happening is the girl who did my direct deposit forgot to do it before y't and I had put it in already, becausen it went automatically every week. I got them to pay my fees as well as the stores fees as well as a letter to the store, but still very emb. Now the lady that owns the store is my great aunt (through marriage). Life is funny. Just explain the mistake and give cash. No big deal.

Um...if you are embarrassed that you bounced the check, chances are she already knows.

What happened is totally understandable. There's nothing embarrassing about saying you accidentally used the wrong account. It's far more embarrassing to know that you never went back to pay.

This post is not serious (sorry for my wicked sense of humor) but I wanted to use this as an opportunity to show that every story has to sides and that it is always very easy to take sides with any OP, instead of looking at the other side of the coin as well.

What was "the other side" here? That a selfish person would put her own embarrassment before the halachically correct thing to do? There are no 2 sides when you gyp someone.
