| |
| Am I crazy? I could have sworn my 2 1/2 month old just gave me a dirty look for eating a colorful salad in front of him after he just finished eating, well drinking, really. He started kvetching with an almost exact insinuation that I should share with him. I do think my baby is smart, of course, and I'm terribly biased, so that is why I'm asking others their opinion. Can a small baby really notice these things already? What happens from now on? He's going to see us eating and it will be one big tease until the day he can try some?

| MandKsIma, this is your golden opportunity: get him his own TV program "Budding Tastes" and let him earn his keep!

Ha! I'm just happy he wasn't eyeing the chocolate I was eating. There ain't no way I'm sharing that. Oy! Why am I eating like I'm still pregnant??? Well, at least I ate salad too...

| Okay, now he's eyeing my salmon salad sandwich. I'm not imagining it. He's also cooing at me. I think it's a ploy.

| I think my mother let my sister suck an apple core at about 3 months and she loved it. She's on the site I wonder if she'll read this.

Be very careful with apple fruit/peel. Tiny pieces can get stuck in a baby's throat. I saw it myself and it necessitated a trip to the ER.

| Well, if you're nursing, I guess he'll get this stuff anyway. And if you're not, he'll just have to dream!!!

Yeah, I think I did see my 2 month old eyeing something I was eating with envy...but then again, I have mommy brain...yesterday I was at the macolet buying ice creams as prizes...I got one each for my older boys and I thought, "Wait a minute I forgot one for Mordechai...Oh yeah, he can't eat yet...DUH!" (please tell me this mommy brain is temporary) _________________ Say, Think or Do One Thing Now to Bring Moshiach!

well since my kids already have their mouths & brains in sync ... I tend to wonder what the kitties are thinkin...
yes you only get temporary amnesia while pregnant and post partum ... it is when you hit 40 you better start worrying ...
as for me I recall being at a gathering and wondering why a crying baby was being ignored ... oh wait - it was mine ... _________________ don't wonder why people go crazy ... rather wonder why we don't

| Well, my DS #1 started trying to grab my food and put it in his mouth at about 3.5 months. If I held him anywhere near food, he would attempt to eat it. So I eventually relented and let him eat solids at 4.5 months, he was clearly ready.

That's interesting to hear - I always assumed I'd wait till 6 mo or so before introducing solids but we'll see how much more interested he becomes over the next few months.
