I'm curious to see how many pple made one. I didn't because my first was a girl. I have one brother who also had a girl first and one sister who married a kohen, otherwise everybody else made one, so far. Still have some single siblings and siblings who don't have any children yet Wink

Yes, thank God we had the privilege to do this Mitzvah.

Well my first child is a boy but we didn't have one because the first pregenancy ended in a misscarriage,
my brother had one and it was very nice

You're missing a few important options:

- No, my son was born by C
- No, I/my DH is a levy

Also, the cohen option should read I/DH is a cohen.

We didn't make one because DH is a levy.

No, because I am a Bas Levi. But my son is a Yisroel, so perhaps if he marries Yisroel, we will yet have one in the family.

I had a girl first.

And she was a C-Section.

The C-Section reason is pretty common too.

3 good reasons:

1. I had a girl first
2. dh is a levi
3. I am a bas levi

I did! It was really nice and my husband was really glad to have the opportunity that hadn't been done in his family for many generations (my MIL is a bas levi.)
But yeh, you should definitely update the poll--add all those options.

I had a boy first, but I am a bas levi, so no pidyon haben. For some reason, this topic comes up rather frequently, and most people will say that they have not gone to too many in their lives. I myself can think of two that I've attended. Until you stop to think about it, you don't realize how rare they are...so many reasons for NOT having one. Out of a combined 5 siblings between me and DH, and b'h everyone married w/ children, no one has made or will make one.
