For those who have or had 2 yr olds in preschool and were required to send lunch everyday what did you send. This is a very tough one for me. My son is not a good eater to begin with so I'm so worried he won't even touch what I do send. Anyhow, love to hear some ideas.

Thanks!!

I used to have to send my 3 year old lunch, who's now 5. I used to send mostly sandwiches and noodles. Might have sent yogurt or cottage cheese with fruit sometimes.

my dd didn't really eat sandwiches, I would give her leftovers of the food that she would eat. if I didn't have time to make lunch I would send yogurt some cheese and bread and applesauce. good luck!

Same problem here.... my 2.75 year old is VERY picky eater.
I send each day a juice box and cheese stick.... and then I'll add with that either a hard boiled egg or fish sticks.

looking forward to seeing what others send.

(my dd wont eat sandwiches)

My kids didn't eat anything we would send, period.
About once a month I would ask them to empty out their bags in elementary school and find the sandwitches we had made them on the bottom, rotting...we are talking about eight or nine year olds...

When they were little I would give them fun finger food. Cut up things in a plastic bag.
I hear that the other kids loved it.
My kids never touched anything..

You could either send anything your child would eat at home no matter how odd or you can ask what other kids usually eat since many kids will eat due to peer preasure.
The kids I babysit for brought all sorts of things. Here's a list of what I can remember.
oatmeal
raisins
apple sauce (usually a big hit and nice and messy)
sliced fruit (apples, nectarines, watermelon, grapes, plums, etc)
bananas
cottage cheese
noodles
sandwiches (grilled cheese, cream cheese, pb, tuna, egg, chocolate spread, avacado)
kasha
rice and chicken (you can add pickles or olives to the mix if your child likes those things)
sliced veggies (cucumbers, tomatoes, cooked carrots, peas, corn)
fish sticks
shnitzel with ketchup
yogurt
sliced cheese
string cheese
cereal in a bag
pretzels
diced fruit cups
pudding
granola bars
cereal bars
scrambled eggs
pizza (or pizza bagels)
waffles
pancakes
vegetable soup

if I think of anything more I'll post it.

my dd would only eat soup pr stew, whenever I had extra leftovers I would send it, she would also eat chicken. I sent whatever I had I knew that at least she ate a good breakfast or that she will eat friuts and vegatables,

I wish that the play group would just charge extra and I wouldn't have the headache of packing a lunch, she used to make soup and a hot starch any way.

Container of noodles. Sometimes he ask for tuna, but that's also in a container. Whoever said fish sticks, thanx. I'll have to try those.

DD used to LOVE Morning Star Farms veggies sausages (OK-D). Heat them in the toaster oven and throw them in a baggie. They are also just the right size for chubby little hands! Smile
