Oral Nystatin for Diaper Rash?

So my baby has a really bad diaper rash that looks fungal. The doctor prescribed Vusion which has not been working and now she prescribed oral Nystatin for him. My baby also does NOT have thrush. Has anyone ever given their baby oral Nystatin for just a diaper rash?

My pediatrician said that Nystatin is for fungal. I don't think it should be a problem. He prescribed my Nystatin for my cracked nipples.

it's just a more systemic method of treatment. ask for nystatin cream instead, I found it worked faster than the oral.

Never heard of oral nystatin, just the cream. My dd gets rashes all the time and the cream really seemed to help.

A fungal diaper rash is thrush, and once its in the diaper area, its pretty much everywhere whether you see it or not. You can also pour the oral solution over the rash, or give the oral by mouth, and continue the vusion cream, which IS nystatin mixed with desitin. You can also ask for mycolog cream which is stronger than nystatin cream.
