| If I have a recipe that calls for dried or powdered mustard can I use regular mustard? What's the difference in outcome?

| prepared mustard has all kinds of things added and tastes nothing (in my opinion) like powdered. It's easy to buy, even in the shuk.

| Dry mustard has a more concentrated flavor. If you use regular mustard, use more than the recipe calls for. You might need to adjust the seasoning a little bit.

Prepared mustard has vinegar and spices in it. It tastes nothing like powdered. When you use powdered, say in a salad dressing, it lends a subtle real mustard taste. Using prepared mustard will give you totally different results.
In fact, did you know you can make your own mustard at home, with the powder? It's delicious. Doesn't taste like the store-bought stuff at all.
