Preschool, circle time .

Tell me for 3 yr olds how bad is it if for our circle time which includes davening, they sit on floor mats because of limited space in the room. Usually I have over the years them on little chairs surrounding me but the class has grown and the room has not. What is your take? Is it a shailoh even?

my kindergartners sit on the floor all the time. no way am I pulling over chairs for each circle!

I don't think it's so terrible at all.
I am not a teacher right now, but I did do my student teaching in a preschool.
I think it is just fine.
I remember as a kindergartener sitting on the floor during circle time.

My kids circle times have always been on the floor.

why would the floor be a problem? put each kid's name on their mat, they'll enjoy that.

the floor is a great way to do circle time thats how I do it and the kids sit much better its a different ways of getting their attention to you they love it theyre attracted ... good luck to you.

The only reason that I even ask is because of davening, if it's respectful otherwise.

why should it be a problem for davening the temanim daven that way to begin with I sometimes daven with the kids sitting on the floor too or sometimes on the grass outside there really is no problem especially with preschool age children
