oh my. I'm supposed to go get my kid off the bus in a few minutes and there's some kind of serious police action going on. there are helicopters and police in my alley, backyard and out front! Help

I did vaguely hear a big ruckus before they all came, but paid little attention since unfortunately used to hearing garbage after school hours...

We live in a war zone. I think we should free the NYPD and call in the Marines.

Well, at 10:30 this evening, while making cheesecakes, I heard gunshots. They were so loud I yelled "Dh, gunshots!" I then heard a few more. Dh wanted to call 911 but I figured it was useless. What was he gonna say, "Hi operator, I heard some gunshots from somewhere in the neighborhood."?

About 5 min later we heard the sirens and saw cop cars on our street. I saw Jews running up the street. Of course, I sent Dh out. Guy was shot right outside the next building!!

Well, had the NYPD not removed the police officers from our street corners, this would've never happened!There was one stationed right across the street until 2 days ago.

Talk about a war zone!

We begged for a crackdown around here from the police force, and we sure got it. They're picking on us Jews for the silliest things as if we're the ones causing trouble around here. Rolling Eyes

This place is messed up, big time.

PSA: if you dare say something to a cop who abuses his position and hollers at you for something as trivial as stepping into the street, you will get arrested. Don't say I didn't warn you. Rolling Eyes

PSA #2: if something bizarre or dangerous happens to you, don't bother telling the police on the next corner. They'll just tell you to tell someone else. Or they'll arrest you. Rolling Eyes

We live in a war zone, police presence or no police presence. The only thing the NYPD is good for is marching in parades. Rolling Eyes

And the mayor too. As long as there are kosher hot dogs on the grill, the Jewish community is doing just fine.

Don't ask - we went to Target in Greatway to get a basketball hoop for the kids. We left about 8:15. We get there and of course they don't have left. So we load up on other things that we need and decide since we're right by the Belt we'll hop on and see if Sunrise Hwy Target has any. I also wanted to get a Wii Fit and Mario Kart for the kids which were sold out as well.

So we get to the second Target and they're also sold out. So we decide to head over to Walmart, also in the same mall. Well Walmart didn't have any either and it's a wreck of a store. We ended up buying Pringles, honey mustard flavor.

We probably ended up getting home right around that time but I had to get the kids in bed, etc. Also, when the ac is on you can't hear much of anything else.
