You don't sound dumb.
how about just making chicken soup without any spices, only a bit of salt, take out what's for them, and then season the rest for the big people? _________________

just make food how you would like it ... only add a little hot water to mush it ... babies do not necessarily prefer bland ...
anyways chicken soup is your best bet ... the same kind you eat ... chicken is softer ... lots of nice veggies ... _________________ don't wonder why people go crazy ... rather wonder why we don't

| they may not prefer bland, but babies that young may not be able to digest spices. Also, the fewer ingredients, the easier it is to identify cv"s allergies or intolerances.

| just cook in some water with some veggies - whatever you like, you may want to strart with just one or two because of allergies and then build up. let it cook for an hour or two, and the blend with all the water. (don't throw out the water, it has all the nutrients in)

My ds,like chicken soup but it was MESSY. Loved the soft zucchini, etc. Don't ask salt. Kosher chicken has enough salt. Plus, the more salt you give your kids now, the more they'll want later. _________________ Just Plain Frum!

| I had much better luck using the dark meat from my chicken soup and just kind of pulling it into tiny shreds with a fork. When I tried to feed white meat chicken and/or process in a food processor, it came out kind of "grainy" I guess and he would just spit it right out.

it can be a nightmare for those with babies with sensitive tummies to have a hard time figuring out what the problem is....then they have to go back to square one and rule everything else out...If you start lechatchila introducing one new thing at a time, then you avoid all that rework. Once you know chicken/veggies are fine, then one spice at a time, you can rule out the rest.
True, most babies deal with these things fine, but if there's a sensitivity, it does make things a lot easier to figure out.

I had my son never wanted to eat at home any chicken. during the day I send him to a babysitter and she always claimed he eats so nicely. I took her recipe for cooking chicken and it worked. it's as follows
1-2 big onions diced
1 big tomato diced
sautee the onions and tomato on a low flame for about an hour or so
add the chicken and cover with water and add some spices like garlic powder and paprika and simmer on very low flame for about 3-4 hours. the chicken becomes soft as butter and it's delicious in taste also.
it's time consuming but it certainly is worth the try.
