Someone told me that the Rosh Yeshiva of Darchei Torah drove over the DVD player of one of the boys since he was watching an inappropriate DVD. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

Because someone here (in the Yeshiva) threatened to smash my son's lap top. when I complained to the principal, he quoted the story and said it was not intimidation. It is just the way frum people do things. That is why it matters to me if it is true or not.

Personally, I find it shocking that a Rosh Yeshiva would damage another's property, and that another principal would see nothing wrong with it.

Oh come now, Obviously it's not the way frum people do things but is the way some frum people do things. And some non frum people do horrid things too. Does that mean all non frum people are bad? no.
lets give the same credit and benefit of the doubt to frum people

I was kinda retorting to the man mugsisme was quoting as having said that comment, I didnt mean it the way you took it.

ok in answer to the OP's question.

no it's not true. Frum people don't do that.
One is not allowed to destroy another person's property and is responsible reimbursing if they do.

I think that way of thinking is rough and unfair - to think one can change the frum velt doing things they don't approve of with such aggressive behavior or insulting words - imo it's a crime and should be treated ... anyone who behaves in such a manner would lose my respect ...

Apparently we are all poor educators.

Thanks for taking the time to write back. I truly thought that I was in some bizarre planet where people do horrible things to other and say it is for chinuch. I am glad to know that I am not alone in thinking that if this story is true, that principal was wrong, and my principal here is wrong for thinking that is perfectly OK. (I asked him he thought what he did was right and he said absolutely.)
