| any ideas on how to quickly defrost a frozen chopped meat package. I want to make it for supper and its frozen solid.....

| Fill a fleishig bowl with lukewarm water (NOT hot) and submerge the package in it. Make sure it's completely covered. It'll be almost completely defrosted in about an hour (at least, that's been my experience).

| my microwave has a defrost setting. I check it very often to make sure none of the meat actually cooks just defrosts.

You have to check it every few minutes. if little bits get cooked its not a problem....

cook it straight away and it is fine.

This is what I always do. Just keep changing the water when it gets cool and it should defrost pretty quickly. I'm always nervous about defrosting meat or fish in a microwave because parts of it sometimes cook while the rest is still frozen.
