We can miss Rabbi Blumenkrantz the person, but his 2008 book is sitting right in front of me! Did you know there's a 2008 Blumenkrantz book?
Go get it! Meanwhile... Purel, let's see...
yep, it's good--- it's at the top of page 355.
Want me to look up anything else while I'm at it?

his son put it out.
a side note on purel- our pediatrician's wife told me there has come out recently AGAINST purel, as if you put your hands in your mouth and some purel is still left on your hands--- there have been some serious problems (sorry, can't remember details as she told me this a couple months ago.... so just mentioning it that if your kids use it---- just make sure it is all rubbed in, and none left on hands.)[/list]

let's see.... it says updated by Rabbi Y.Y. Blumenkrantz, Rabbi Y.M. Blumenkrantz, and Rabbi A. Blumenkrantz.
And after Rabbi Avrohom Blumenkrantz's name it does say Zatzal. So I guess other family members are taking over? Baruch HaShem, it's a good resource each year. I was surprised to hear it was coming out this year too-- but when I found out it was going to, I made sure to get it.

I heard a report somewhere that there have been reports of overdosing on purel because parents dont think to keep it away from children and also, like mentioned above it has alcohol. _________________

Not quite that bad. There were several cases of preschoolers who became intoxicated because they pretty much ate the stuff. It was in a dispenser accessible to the children, and it was scented with something candy-like. They didn't just stick hands in mouths while they were still a drop moist, they actually licked the stuff off their hands without rubbing it in. It has glycerin in it, which is sweet, so if it smells good it'll be tempting to taste it.
even so, keep it out of children's reach, use only a little and make sure it's rubbed in till completely dry.
Better yet, wash with soap and water. Purell kills the germs, but soap removes dirt and toxins that Purell leaves behind.
