How I clean for Pesach
When I clean, I go through every memento of the last year, and organize every sock in every drawer. It basically takes me forever to clean for Pesach.

Pesach cleaning is a breeze. I just take everything out, wipe, and put back.

I’m fed up of people whining about cleaning for Pesach. How hard is it once a year to go from room to room, take everything out, wipe, and put back! Get a grip! Stop organizing, leave that for a snowed in day!

You have a whole year to organize! Why antagonize yourself and torture your family with a long and drawn out process under the guise of Pesach cleaning… I think it’s irresponsible and taking advantage of the family!

I didn't vote, because I'm in between.
Firstly, you need to clean THINGS, not only the places they are stored.
Wash every toy, vacuum all the pockets and purses, briefcases, etc.
I do a bit of organizing, but not so much.
It's the kitchen turn-over that is a killer.

Well of course I take out, wipe the closet, then the things, and then put them back. I make sure to organize over the summer so that by Chanukah time everything is perfect, which avoids the last minute compulsion to go through stuff.

Yeah, but its a little hard to take out a shelf that is a hodge-podge, wipe it out and then just put it back in the same hodge-podge!!

I am amother because my friends think I am NUTS for this.

I have a rotation that I go through all year long. I am constantly going through and purging and organizing and deep cleaning as I have time, one room at a time. Sometimes I am really busy and even a small room can take over a month. Sometimes I have more free time and do a few rooms in a week. But I am always going through the rooms in my house in the same order. When Pesach comes around, I only have to do a quick clean all over the house and worry about the kitchen.

I grew up in a filthy cluttered house so I realize this is not normal. But at least once a year it's a good thing.

Amother why the shame. I do this almost every Sunday. It becomes natural and people actually think I’m insane that I didn’t start making pesach yet.

The US Constitution gives me the Right to Whine, so whine I shall! As I said, my husband does most of the cleaning (no, we don't check the sock drawer) so you might say I am less entitled to whine. But I will whine every day between now and Pesach, either here or irl. Anybody who doesn't enjoy whining better put me on their Ignore List.

if hametz food doesn't go into a room, and we don't allow hametz food upstairs, then you don't have to clean.

I do clean the upstairs, but right now I'm working on cabinets, which I'll close off anyway, and doing a first cleaning of stove, oven and fridge, with the help of dh and kids.

There is a large difference between cleaning for Pesach (crumbs aren't really hametz) and spring cleaning.

I am so disorganized and messy that I view Pesach cleaning as a kick in the pants (skirt?) to get my house together. I start really early so that I am not stressed and I know in my head that a lot of my cleaning is not Pesach cleaning and halachically necessary, but like Shalhevet said- if not now- I would never do it.

I went through all the closets before purim and got rid or unwanted/unnecessry stuff. so after purim all I need to do is actually clean.

I did, however, go through the sock drawers today. anything with an irreparable hole or no mate was chucked. I also reorganized the way I keep the kids' stuff on the shelves and drawers.it took about half an hour.

1. I refuse to organize my closets and drawers all year long,. I do it once a year, before pesach.

2. I dont excessively organize anything. I dont sit and pore over old letters and memorabilia. but, once a year my closet and shelves get decluttered and clothes I havent worn all year get given away.

3. I didnt complain.

4. Even without organizing, unpacking shelves and closets takes time. the kitchen takes time. And with a misbehaving toddler underfoot, it's five times as difficult, B"H.

5. I spend the summer in the great outdoors, not locked inside organizing closets. Snowed in days? Those are also for the great outdoors! I reserve the 'spring cleaning' for once a year! And I aint complaining!

My clothes are all organized all the time. Otherwise I'd never be able to get myself dressed.

I am, however, constantly tidying up my tupperware , pantry, and other shelves. Most prob. b/c other ppl are in and out of there, not just me.

is it a big deal to be organized? I lived in tiny apts all my married life and worked full time. I had no time to searsh for things constantly.

blouses on hangers with many arms, one under another. summer separately from winter.

ditto skirts - one rack for khaki, one for navy, one for denim; you get the idea. all on organizing hangers.

ditto shabbos clothes.

the rest of my stuff is in boxes - one for twin sets, one for sweaters, one for 2 - piece outfits.

summer, same. work tops one box. polo shirts, another box.

shells, another box.

I stack them up. and this way, if it's a cold day, I take a twin set. warmer day, a one layer sweater. shabos morning, I got to a different part of the closet.
