How much do you tip a manicurist? I'm never sure if I'm tipping too much/too little. (I pay $8 for a manicure and $25 for a manicure/pedicure)

The standard is 15% or 20% of the price you pay. In your case, the minimum would be $1.20 for the manicure, and $3.75 for both. (I hope I got the numbers rightfd.)

$1 or $2, leave it at the front desk if you feel strange.

Those are terrible tips. Service people get tipped minimum 20%, specially if you want decent service.

I leave $3 for a manicure.

The minimum is 20% ? I thought that the minimum is 15, and the standard is 20.

You say you tip $3 for a manicure. How much do you pay, and what percentage is the $3?
