Have your child(ren) draw a picture (or take a cheap toy or candy) and put it an envelope. Address it for him/her to another member of the family and put it an envelope and put it in your mailbox and then tell the family member it's addressed to that they got mail.
They can even "write" and mail letters to classmates.
