Does anyone have any ideas for what sauce I can serve with meatloaf to make it more interesting? Please include recipes if you can....

This isn't a sauce, but my mom makes a topping of chopped onions sauteed with sliced mushrooms that goes really well on meatloaf. When I used to make meatloaf, I would pour ketchup on the top before baking, so there was this kind of sweet coating.

dito mushroom sauce

sautee onion, add a can of mushroom and spices and some corn starch, delicious and easy!!

Sounds very simple but it works: I pour one can of Rokeach tomato sauce with mushrooms over the top of the meatloaf, and then refill the can about half full with water and pour that around the base of the meatloaf before putting it in the oven. Result: very juicy, tasty loaf (I used to put onions on top but they tended to burn so now I just add chopped onions to the loaf.

theres a great recipe for meatloaf with a sauce in the lubavitch (purple cookbook) has tomato sauce, mustard, and water. it's delicious.
