We live in an apartment building. We B"h are allowed to make a sukkah and have a size slightly smaller then a car parking space.
Last year they told us we could not have a wire going from our apartment to the succa for lighting as it goes over the driveway which many cars use. I need ideas of a light we could use in our succah that does not need a power point, would last 3 day and is not too expensive. Last year I tried a battery operated recharagable lantern but it only lasted the first night and it was a very eerie light and not bright.

Anyone in a simular situation and have a good idea for a light?

try big candles inside hurricane lanterns - one or two might do the trick in such a small sukkah

Maybe try a camping store - perhaps they have some sort of oil lamps?

Even if you just have candles alone it will be fun! Make sure you have long lasting ones for friday night.

just be careful about the candles if there are children running around, or stray cats that might smell the food and jump up on the table...safety you know. probably didn't need to remind anyone, but hey, better safe than sorry as they say.

I'm gonna repeat ... any candles can cause a fire if precautions are not taken for safety ... inside the succah and inside the house ... it doesn't preclude one from bentching licht ... just be careful in doing so ...
