I am considering launching a Web site business and I came across SiteBuildit - everything under the sun in services for one flat rate.

Their marketing is superb and I think it almost sounds too good to be true.

Has anyone used this service or heard anything good or bad about it?

Thnx.

P.S. PM me if you don't want to talk about your business publicly on the forum

Hi Ladies,

I really would appreciate any advice from you techies out there or from those of you who run a web business already.

Any recomendations for/against siteBuildIt (SBI) or for any other hosting/services company.

Any tips you've learned while running your own Web businesses?

What is reasonable to pay for hosting and some services like ecommerce/forms/email management & broadcasting/database/blogging? SBI is everything together for $299/yr - all inclusive - that's like $27/mo. Does that sound realistic?

TIA for your tips, ladies.

I do use SBI and it is actually everything they say it is. It does take work but it's a real business and you will get out of it what you put in. Also, there is a learning curve when you get started and it can be a little overwhelming at the beginning, but it gets easier and it's a fun and legitimate way to earn income writing about something you care about.

I was considering SBI for a long time. I never did go with them. First I started with a free Blogger blog.
I was selling affiliate products there. Then, I put up a Wordpress blog for which I needed my own hosting. So, I got a domain (Godaddy) and hosting (Hostgator). But, I had to learn everything on my own - keyword research, how to set stuff up etc. I also had to get my own autoresponder (Aweber) in order to build a mailing list. All this costs over $30 a month. I'm not sure what SBI gives. I know they provide hosting, but you still have to purchase your own domains (about $10 a year). Do they provide an autoresponder in the price as well?

I know that people who use SBI swear by them. But I have heard that some of their technologies are klunky.

Yes, ChossidMom, the technologies are clunky, that's my frustration. But, on the other hand they do give resources to learn and do everything from a-z.

There is a sale now: buy one site from them, get the second for $100. I don't want to post the link, b/c I don't think I'm supposed to do that here, but anyone can PM me for details.

I have looked at your site before. It is really amazing. How did you teach yourself so much about Web marketing?

edited so I didn't seem so dopey! Bom

Thanks for the tip, I checked out the site. You learned everything about copywriting (you're good, I'm a professional copywriter, and I am impressed), technology of making pages, SEO, google adsense, etc. All from here. Wow. Have you acheived the results like some of the amazing results some people claim? Six figures all from referral sales? $3600/yr from a 1-page niche web site?

Are those claims just typical marketing hype?

Are you talking to me? I'm a good copywriter? hahahahahahaha.
It's not just the Warrior Forum. I have also bought my share of e-books and I've read and done stuff.
Frankly, I haven't done much at all over the past 8 months, at least and I'm not making much money at all. It's too much work and I just don't have the time for it right now. I don't even know how to build html sites. I've only been using blogs till now. I'm not sure where I'm going vis a vis my online "career". It takes ALOT of work and major creativity. Gotta think outside the box to stand out.

you certainly are a good writer with a nice conversational tone - nothing too salesy!

You chose a very competitive niche to go into with the web affiliate sales site. IIRC your other site is health/wellness site - also very competitive. I hear what you're saying about being a lot of work and creative energy. I guess I wanted to believe the hype that you can just passively sit by and let your site rake in the dough. Embarassed

Nevertheless, I do have a nice niche and I do like the creative and business building aspects and I hope I can make a go of a home business out of my SBI site.

Thanks so much for the tips.
