Right again, Betsy Tacy.

Can you tell how much procrastination of household chores went into making this? Wink

Sequoia, yes, #30 is Emily Dickinson, and the "order of your going" is Macbeth.

27 is Pope. Good!

I don't know if he said it, but MLK should have said #31.
If only these quotes could have been by these authors but from their more famous works! (Who has ever read Barnaby Rudge?)

Doesn't " In the long, sleepless watches of the night" sound like the anatomy of melancholy?
If I wasn't having so much fun, that line would make me feel blue.

All right, I will now bow out to people who have actually read Ulysses, and any Kafka besides the Metamorphosis, but I will definitely be following this thread.

Thanks imasinger! This is so much fun-much more fun than those who are probably posting about Pesach cleaning Smile

BetsyTacy, that is a melancholic line, but it is not Burton's. The Burton line I will give you in its entirety, because I thought it was kind of obnoxious, and I enjoyed chopping it to my purpose:

"Women wear the breeches...[a strange bit about sheep devouring a town] in a word, the world turned upside downwards..."

Sequoia, right again about Merchant of Venice.

BetsyTacy, I'm sorry I couldn't find something else from Dickens or Kafka. Neither exactly lent themselves as readily to my purpose as, say, Shakespeare.

MLK did say #31.

I will let people guess for a little longer, since it seems to be fun, and then post the answers.

I'm surprised there are no G&S afficionados! I thought that was one of my easier ones.

I await the answers while I ponder the question--since the only G&S I know is the Pirates of Penzance, could I have connected the modern major general to the megilla?

Imasinger, this is just terrific. Alas, too difficult for my ducky brain (do rubber duckies have brains?) but wonderful nonetheless!

Ducky, you got a bunch; I think you should feel good!

I didn't expect that one person would get them all.

Thanks; I had a lot of fun making it.

OT but BetsyTacy could not be more excited about your user name. It's a literary allusion too isn't it? If I'm right, it's my all time favorite series ever. Just had to put that in 😊

Did anyone answer #13 yet? I love that poem! I'm not sure but I think it's by Robort Frost.
