It just meant that now I understand why you're asking.
Wish I could do it...
I don't have cake either.

They'd rather get a cake from a total stranger?
Why don't you suggest they make their own?

they don't have the set-up for baking as they are babysitting someone else's apartment ... so until next month when they have their own place they cannot bake

besides - I know some of you amothers ... so I thought someone I knew would come forward for my kiddies ...

I guess I was wrong

Seriously - either call a bakery, call someone you know, find someone who bakes at home for pay and ask if they would deliver (so it has the homemade taste you're after) or tell your kids to bake for themselves.

Asking strangers on the internet to bake and deliver a birthday cake? It's a bit over the top... It's not like there's a crisis.

It's not a birthday cake, it's a cake for shabbos. And she said her kids don't have an oven.
But yeah, I totally agree with you.

It's not even safe to let a stranger come to your house and bring a questionable cake.
