Some ideas I do for myself and dh packed lunch. (We both work full time):

Salad - whatever I have in fridge so mix of any of the following: lettuce/cucs/toms/carrots/onions/avocados etc with drizzle of olive oil, s & p, lemon juice.

Sushi salad with no fish just veg (personal preference)

Same fridge salad as above but mix in brown rice or cous cous

Sometimes I add cut up boiled eggs or tuna to salad. But I guess u could add any suitable protein.

Cut up veg with humous

Can't think what else at the moment excluding bread or pasta!

Btw I also cut up fruit and veg for mid morning snack.

Hope that helps Smile

WHen you say no bread does that include no pita chips?
Because I have made myself a great salad for lunch, shwarma salad from balabustes choice 2. It is so filling and served cold.

You could totally make it without the chips though.

Any salad with protein (fish or meat) is great.

Pita chips is probably fine..though my dh won't go for the fleishig part in the middle of the day ;( Tks for the idea though.

I'm also on a no starch diet and I bag my lunch every day. My lunch includes 3 components: protein, vegetables, and fruit (dessert). Below is a list of foods in each category - I mix and match as per my mood of the day.

Protein:
fish - small can of tuna, salmon, sardines, or leftover baked fish chopped up in a salad
eggs (hard boiled eggs don't need to be warm- can be sliced or mashed)
Chicken/ beef - leftover grilled chicken or patties cut in chunks over salad
Beans/legumes- chick peas, lentils - added to salad makes it very filling
Cheese - farmer cheese mixed with paprika and scallions. Cottage cheese mixed with peppers or fruit
Nuts - almonds - added to salad makes it filling, peanut butter (I eat it with apples or bananas)

Vegetables - I take a big serving - if you don't have starch, you'll need to fill up with something else to avoid cravings. Besides for salad, I take along cut up veggies like peppers and carrot sticks for mid morning snacking

Fruit - a small piece goes along way in leaving you with a sweet taste in your mouth.

I also never used to until I realized that if I eat my chocolate in the am with my coffee, and I am having meaty for supper anyway, what difference if I eat meaty for lunch.
But I do know that men can be stubborn in their ways Wink

Pita chips with hummus is yummy, healthy and filling. I use 100% whole wheat pitas and make my own chips out of them- it's pretty quick. I also make my own hummus- it's cheap and yummier than the kind with preservatives.
